Your museum matters.

Simple, repeatable, proven communications frameworks for your museum.

The world needs your museum.

The work you do is important. But you can’t keep running like this.

There’s too much to do, and it all feels urgent.

Luckily, there’s a way to streamline your efforts and actually enjoy your museum again.

Headshot of Amy Kehs, museum communications consultant

Hi! I’m Amy Kehs.

I love museums.

My first job out of college was at the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum. Since then, I’ve worked for some of the most renowned and well-loved museums in Washington, D.C.

I want your museum to thrive in the next century.

My simple, repeatable framework will help you attract more visitors and encourage them to come back again—without adding more to your plate.

I live in Crofton, Maryland with my husband, daughter, and son. I’m a proud Naval Academy sponsor Mom. When I’m not exploring museums, I’m either out for a walk, planning my next trip, or enjoying my collection of fountain pens.

Museums Amy Loves

As someone who’s visited countless museums, it’s impossible to list all of my favorites. But, here are four that are near and dear to my heart and that I love returning to again and again.

I’m confident you’ll love them, too.

Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum
Washington, D.C.

This was the first museum I worked in, so it’s my first love. I love the collection and the stories the museum tells of human ingenuity, adventure, and discovery.

Entrance to the San Diego Zoo

San Diego Zoo
San Diego, California

Zoos are museums too! The San Diego Zoo is a prime example of great brand messaging. The staff shared key messages all day, making us not only enjoy the experience but also deeply connect with their conservation mission. By the end, we weren’t just in awe of the animals—we were cheering for them!

Governors Palace at Colonial Williamsburg

Colonial Williamsburg
Williamsburg, Virginia

Visiting Colonial Williamsburg as a child is probably one of the reasons I love museums and tourism. Walking through the streets feels like stepping into a time machine, where history comes alive in the most immersive way.

Entrance to the Charles Dickens Museum in London, England

The Charles Dickens Museum
London, England

A new favorite! I just visited it last year during my epic museum trip to London. I love it because it presents a unique and personal glimpse of his life in Dickens’ actual London home. What makes the experience even more special is the kindness and enthusiasm of the staff.
